Accessing Jenzabar EX, Infomaker, and PowerFAIDS from off-campus

Access to our database applications from off-campus is provided through Microsoft Remote Desktop Services RemoteApp. This article explains how to access these applications when you are not on-campus.There are two methods for accessing database applications from off-campus: the RemoteApp Web Gateway, and installing off-campus versions of the RemoteApp helper programs. If you want to access the applications on a computer that does not belong to you, you should use the Web Gateway. If you want to access the applications on a College-owned computer, or a computer owned by you, you may install the helper programs.

RemoteApp Web Gateway

  1. Open Internet Explorer. You must use Internet Explorer, you can not use other browsers such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
  2. Go to https://jex-gateway.lincolncollege.edu/RDWeb/
  3. Log in using your LynxNET account (usually the same as your email user name and password). Your username must have "lincdom\" in front of it.
  4. Click on the icon for the database application you want to access.
  5. Click "Connect" when you are asked if you want to run the RemoteApp program.
  6. Click "Yes" on any pop-up boxes about certificate errors.
  7. When you are done using the database application, please close it and click "Sign Out" on the RemoteApp Web Gateway page.

RemoteApp Helper Program

  1. Download the RemoteAppHelper.zip file at the bottom of this article.
  2. Open the file when it finishes downloading.
  3. Double click on the file named for the database application you want to access.
  4. After a short install process, an icon will be placed on your desktop, as well as in the Lincoln College Programs folder in your programs menu.
  5. Double click on the icon on your desktop.
  6. Click "Connect" when you are asked if you want to run the RemoteApp program.
  7. Log in using your LynxNET account (usually the same as your email user name and password). Your username must have "lincdom\" in front of it.
  8. Click "Yes" on any pop-up boxes about certificate errors.
  9. When you are done using the database application, please close it.
